We are proud to announce that Sally Thompson has recently won the “Distinguished Service Award” from Canadian Condominium Institute (CCI) and the “Associate of the Year” award from the Association of Condominium Managers (ACMO)! For years, Sally has been active in the Condominium industry, volunteering with CCI (Toronto Chapter board, member of several Toronto Chapter and National committees), ACMO (Associates Executive Committee), speaking at the Condo Conference, presenting CCI’s training courses, project managing the development of the mandatory Director training developed by CCI for the Condo Authority of Ontario, sitting on a committee during the set-up of the CMRAO, helping Tarion develop the CECPG, sitting on the Tarion Condo Task force and volunteering with Professional Engineers Ontario to develop their guideline for reserve fund studies and performance audits. She has also been influential with respect to amendments to the Condominium Act, including sitting on the 2014 Expert Panel that advised the ministry, and persists in trying to get amendments made to the Condominium Act that will help ensure the financial success of condos into the future. Sally is a testament to the positive influence one volunteer can have when they throw themselves whole-heartedly into a cause.
