MECHANICAL DESIGNER – FULL-TIME POSITION

THE OPPORTUNITY
You will:
- Establish and develop standards for mechanical drawing submissions, including project setup, line weights, layers, text size, dimension styles, blocks, gridlines, backgrounds, symbols, legends, printing layouts, and plot styles.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and sub-consultants.
- Develop concepts, perform calculation and select equipment based on calculation findings , supplier recommendations, and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with other disciplines and internal teams to ensure proper integration of mechanical equipment and system requirements.
- Produce and/or modify mechanical drawings to transform concepts and markups into ready-for-construction plans and schematics.
- Conduct site visits and accurately capture information, including notes, sketches, and photographs, to support the project team.
- Present and communicate technical information clearly, concisely, and effectively.
You have:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent is a requirement.
- Minimum 2 years experience in mechanical design, preferably in residential and commercial projects.
- P.Eng designation or working towards it an asset (if applicable).
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering systems and technical terms, with the ability to interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering codes, standards, and common construction practices.
- Ability to build and maintain positive client relationships.
- Strong technical writing skills with attention to grammar and clarity.
- Highly organized with strong time-management abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exceptional attention to detail.
We will provide:
- Competitive salary of $75,000 to $90,000 annually plus profit sharing.
