David De Rose

David is a building enclosure specialist with more than two decades of experience in evaluating building enclosure performance problems (such as air and water leakage and thermal performance) and designing repairs. David provides new enclosure design advice to design teams based on lessons learned from his evaluation and repair experience. David has been instrumental in improving overall building envelope performance and durability for hundreds of buildings across Canada. He is a past-president with the Ontario Building Envelope Council (OBEC) and a certified Building Science Specialist Ontario (BSSO).

David is an invaluable technical resource when it comes to building enclosure systems, both to his clients and to the rest of the Synergy team. He is the Chair of the CSA A440.6 subcommittee that deals with high-exposure fenestration installation and Vice-Chair for CSA-S478 Standard on Building Durability. He is currently a Part-time Professor at Ryerson University where he teaches Building Envelope Restoration for the Master of Building Science Program in the Department of Architectural Science. His depth of knowledge in the building enclosure and building science areas means that Synergy can deliver sound advice to meet specific project requirements. His expertise and mentorship help propel the professional growth and knowledge base of the Synergy team to new heights.

Outside of work, David can be found gardening, cooking pizzas in his outdoor wood-fired oven, cheering on the Leafs, and spending time with his family.
